Aislinn Lacorazza 

Aislinn Lacorazza is a dancer, choreographer, and collaborator for the project. A native of Syracuse, she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance from George Mason University. While at college she also held a position in costuming within the school of dance. She is currently a resident of Syracuse and involved in many projects in the area. Aislinn attends college in the area and is working on becoming a registered nurse. She is excited to be part of the emerging dance scene in Syracuse and seeks to support and promote art throughout the community.




Anne Novado

Anne Novado is an artist based in Syracuse, NY.  After obtaining her MFA in Painting in 2004, she has taught drawing courses at Syracuse University and Onondaga Community College in addition to her studio practice.

Novado’s ongoing series of biomorphic drawings are influenced by observations of natural phenomena, behavior, and mutation.  Of these drawings, the artist states, “These drawings occupy an odd and curious place between the familiar and the bizarre, where the viewer often tries to identify something in them that is recognizable, but as these are abstract forms, the familiar association stops short.”

Recent exhibition history includes: solo shows at: Exhibit A Gallery,  New England College Art Gallery,  Houghton Art Gallery, Fenton Art Gallery at Onondaga Community College, and group exhibitions  include: Rochester Memorial Art Gallery, Everson Museum of Art’s Biennial “The Object and Beyond”, and Iceland’s Gallery Svartaloft “Light Night 2007” festival exhibition.

Brandon Ellis

Brandon Ellis brings extraordinary passion to his role as Artistic Director of Dance Theatre of Syracuse (DTS).  His dance lineage encompasses the leading artistic voices of the 20th century.  Ellis has worked with Alvin Ailey Repertory Ensemble, Philidanco, Dayton Contemporary Dance Co., Complexions and Rituals as a principal dancer, choreographer, and teacher.  His teaching credentials include tenure with the Alvin Ailey Arts Education program at The Ailey School, Ballet Hispanico,  DC Artworks and the Long Island University.  Brandon Ellis brings his exceptional artistry, inspirational leadership and passion to DTS.

Cecily Thomas

Cecily Thomas is from Syracuse, New York. She attends Syracuse University in the school of visual and performing arts. Her major is illustration, She also has a passion for photography. Cecily participated in Music Dance Movement Art, Volume I in August of 2013.

Dominique Dawkins

 

Known for her Intense teaching style Dominique Dawkins has a gift of inspiring dancers through her choreography and passion for the nature of dance.

She drives her students with her enthusiasm and raw perspectives. She Specializes in understanding awareness of  ones soul through movement while educating  good technique.

Dominique has taught  master classes,workshops, and set choreography through out Ny State. Currently the director , owner and choreograph of Dominique's Dance Creations, she has received numerous choreography awards both regionally and nationally. Dominique has performed and was a part of  The Apollo, So you think you can dance, and Americas got talent 2012. Dominique's Passion and raw talent  has earned her scholarships to the Joffrey Ballet, Alvin Alley, Dance Theater of Harlem, Broadway Dance Center, and NYSSA . Beginning her training at the young age of three Dominique as experienced world wide training in numerous styles of dance. She has over 20 years experience in all different techniques such as, jazz, tap, ballet, hip-hop, modern, contemporary, acrobatics, and ballroom. Dominique challenges her dancers to " Dare To Be Different "and dance for the best they can be. She hopes to continue to grow while transcending passion to every dancer she can.

Eileen Hollis

Eileen Hollis is living & playing in Syracuse, NY. Given a piece of yarn and a button, she's craftier than a squirrel! She's inspired by many things but has a certain appeal towards all things vintage.This little lady creates whimsical earrings out of discarded jewelry, gizmos and doodads. Eileen loves all that glitters and hopes her repurposed jewelry makes you shine.

 

Hanni Schwarzlander

Hanni Schwarzlander is a professional dancer, teacher, and choreographer who began her early dance training in Syracuse. She danced her way through a BA at Oberlin College and Syracuse University, after which she spent time performing extensively in Europe for revues and national television.  Back in the U.S., she continued performing primarily in musical theatre, touring nationally and working at regional theatres.  Returning to Syracuse, Hanni taught ballet, jazz, musical theatre, tap, and modern at the Onondaga Dance Institute, the Dance Arts Studio, and the Dance Theater of Syracuse.  In addition, Hanni has taught ballet at the Syracuse University Drama Department as an adjunct professor.  Most recently, Hanni was instrumental in helping build and expand the Dance program for the Performing Arts Department at Manlius Pebble Hill School, where she devoted her time to teaching dance classes, and directing and choreographing the Upper and Middle School musical productions.  Hanni currently teaches at the Ballet and Dance Center, and is busy bringing a new form of entertainment to the Syracuse area--Dancematazz, a Broadway style dance entertainment group designed exclusively to liven up parties and events

 

Jamelda McDonald

Jamelda McDonald moved to Syracuse in June of 2013 from East Texas to complete her college degree and to focus on her passion, photography. From portraits, to street art, and special events Jamelda's ultimate aesthetic is to not only capture your special moment, but to bottle the feelings you felt for a lifetime through photography. Jamelda is currently studying Electronic Media Communications at Onondaga College and continues to explore Syracuse with fresh eyes and her camera.

Jessica DeSalvia

Jessica DeSalvia was born in Syracuse, New York where she trained with the Onondaga Dance Institute and the Dance Arts Studios and Center of Movement Studies. She is currently studying dance at the College of SUNY Brockport. She is a dancer, choreographer, artist and writer. Jessica performed for Music Dance Movement Art Volume I, she all submitted artwork for that event. Jessica's art pieces range from, drawing, painting, charcoal, and digital design. She is also a talented Henna artist. Jessica has recently been selected to present a paper she wrote on the topic of dance at the National Conference for Undergraduate Research in Kentucky Spring of 2014. She looks forward to future opportunities to collaborate with the FLOOR+WALLS Artist Collective.

Josh Henning

Josh Henning  is an artist in the Syracuse area. He collaborated with The FLOOR+WALLS Collective in August of 2013. He submitted pieces to the gallery for the Music Dance Movement Art, Volume I event.

Kathryn Petrillo

Kathryn Petrillo is a Syracuse, NY artist. Color, light, dimension and the dynamic changes of visual perception is her life long focus. She has exhibited in NJ and NY. Kathryn submitted works for The FLOOR Has WALLS event April 2014.

 

Kenneth Essel 

Kenneth Essel collaborated with The FLOOR+WALLS Collective in August of 2013. He submitted photography to the gallery for the Music Dance Movement Art, Volume I event.

Logan Pistello

Logan is the Founder and Director of Logan Pistello Films, a full-service video production company located in Syracuse, NY, that strives to make a difference. Makeda McGowan

Makeda McGowan is a Syracuse native who has recently relocated to New York City. Makeda loves fashion, art, music, night life, promoting parties and coordinating events. Makeda was part of the original planning committee for Music Dance Movement Art, FLOOR+WALLS Artist Collective. She helped coordinate the first event in 2013 by managing the front of house. 

 

Marisa Giocondo

Marisa Giocondo's main concentration when creating her first exhibition for Music Dance Movement Art Volume I, was people with intense migraines. She mainly portrays the pain through expressions in faces and different images. She also enjoy doing colorful portraits. You can see some images of this work on the Projects page of this website.

Marissa Carey

Marissa Carey collaborated with The FLOOR+WALLS Collective in August of 2013. She submitted a series of pieces to the gallery for the Music Dance Movement Art, Volume I event. Marissa is both an artist and a dancer. Marissa grew up dancing with Dance Arts Studios and Center of Movement Studies. She is currently in art school.

McKayla Crump 

Mc Kayla Crump is collaborating with the FLOOR+WALLS Artist collective as a Graphic Designer and Graphic Artist. She designed the flier for the April 5th event and after party for The FLOOR Has WALLS.

Molly Naif

Molly Naef collaborated with The FLOOR+WALLS Collective in August of 2013. Molly does not consider herself an artist, but rather a creative person who needs to express herself through a physical medium. This art is part of her ever expanding body of work. Following a Woodman attitude, Molly believes that art is a serious commitment, to which every single person must devote ample time. She is currently exploring the medium of film through a role in Young Adulterated by Steve Gemmiti. The artist was born and raised in Syracuse New York and is currently a sophomore at William Smith college.

Nick Flohr

Nick Flohr is a Syracuse native who has recently relocated to New York City. He studied Art at SUNY New Paltz. Nick was part of the original planning committee for Music Dance Movement Art, FLOOR+WALLS Artist Collective. He helped coordinate the first event in 2013 by serving as our Graphic Designer, producing the event's official flier as well as helping with the front of house and after party.

Nicole Blue 

Nicole Blue is currently a senior undergraduate psychology major. She has been dancing for 13 years. Nicole aspires to be a professional dancer with a modern based company, and later to become a counseling psychologist.  When Nicole not twirling around the studio, she enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Roberto Perez

Roberto Perez is the Executive Director, Co-founder, Performer, Instructor, Choreographer, and DJ of Havana Nights Latin Dance. Roberto was born and raised in the heart of one of the most musical city in the world, La Habana de Cuba, where the dances Mambo, Cha-cha-cha, Son, Danzon and Guaguanco were first introduced along with "Casino" - the traditional way of dancing to the music known worlwide as "Salsa." Upon his arrival Syracuse, he immediately started spreading his love for Salsa, and other Latin American dances and music, throughout Central New York as a member of the Latin Club at Syracuse University and as host of the  Latino radio show "Nosotros".  Roberto now teaches classes which weave Cardio Salsa, SalsAerobics, and traditional Cuban movement into a dynamic and exciting class full of exotic musical flavors. The routines feature aerobic interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body utilizing easy to follow dance steps.

Sierra DeSalvia  

Sierra DeSalvia is an artist, dancer, mediator, event organizer and producer. She was born in Syracuse, NY where she trained with the Onondaga Dance Institute and the Dance Arts Studios and Center of Movement Studies. Sierra majored in Peace Studies with a concentration in Dance at Goucher College, Baltimore, MD. She has trained and performed internationally with The West African Ballet in Bamako, Mali and the Accademia dell'Arte in Arezzo, Tuscany, Italy. While abroad, Sierra produced artworks that traveled in a five country touring art exhibition in Western Africa. Since 2010 Sierra has been a member of a Baltimore, MD based experimental dance making company, The Effervescent Collective. She has recently relocated back to Syracuse where she teaches for Dance Theater of Syracuse, performs with Dancematazz Broadway Style Dance Entertainment and continues to create artwork. Sierra is currently producing events through The FLOOR+WALLS Artist Collective she founded in 2013.

Silas Cross

Silas Cross is an artist and DJ. He has submitted artwork for both Music Dance Movement Art, Volume I and The FLOOR Has WALLS. Silas DJ’d the after party for our event in August 2013 under his DJ name, Silas Maximus

Susie Yong

Susie Yong is a student at SUNY Environmental Science and Forestry with a Bachelors of Landscape Architecture 2014. She participated with the FLOOR+WALLS Collective during the FLOOR Has WALLS event in April 2014 for which she submitted miniature clay sculptures. About her work she says, "I trust my hands to sculpt and speak for me in a way I can absolutely not articulate in words. It may not be in a language many can relate with but my pieces speak years about who I am. Created in a contemplative state of mind, the clay and I go on many journeys and emotional rides. Imbedding those journeys, emotions, and memories into the clay, I give them a touch of life, personify them."

Thomas Ciccone

Thomas Ciccone was born and raised in Buffalo New York. It wasn't until the age of 19 that Thomas realized a potential in dance, in which he had no previous training. While studying at The State University of New York College at Brockport, Thomas gained insight on various components of Dance including: choreographic processes, movement generation, improvisational techniques as well as extensive training in Modern, Ballet and African dance styles.  After graduating in 2012 with his Bachelor of Fine Art in Dance Performance and Choreography, Thomas Ciccone traveled as a member with the Bill Evans Dance Company, performing at venues such as Jacobs Pillow Dance Festival and the Hochstein Theatre in Rochester NY.  Ciccone has also been a featured dancer in performance collaborations with The Rochester Philharmonic  Orchestra which included Carousel in Concert and Dancing Through the Decades.  Thomas Ciccone is currently living in Syarcuse NY where he is performing with DanceMatazz: Broadway Style Dance Entertainment.  Thomas is also serving as the Dance Coordinator for the Music Dance Movement Art Series: The Floor Has Walls.

Tori Thayer

Tori Thayer was born and raised in Syracuse and has always had a great interest in the arts in the creative process. Recently graduated from OCC with an associates degree in drawing and painting. Tori is beginning an apprenticeship with glass and metals artist Lindsey Collier Sears in Rochester,during which she will be learning more about fine crafts and jewelry design. Tori enjoys working with many different mediums such as acrylic paint, watercolor, metal, glass, and ceramics. In her work, she combines these various materials while focusing on the unique contrast between ancient and futuristic designs and concepts. 

Willson Cummer

Willson Cummer is a fine-art photographer, curator and teacher who lives in Fayetteville, NY.  Images from his projects have been included in national juried exhibitions.  His first solo New York City show opened in December 2011 at OK Harris, in Soho.  Willson's work explores humanity's place in the environment.
